" Our Mission is to empower people living with Multiple Sclerosis. The mission of the Jacquelyn Zimmerman Foundation is to provide programs and support services to persons affected by MS that help them maintain their health, safety, self-sufficiency, mental health, personal well-being; and to heighten public awareness of Multiple Sclerosis in order to elicit financial support for the Foundation's programs and services and promote understanding for those diagnosed with the illness. "
Jacquelyn Zimmerman was a daughter, niece, mother, sister, grandmother, a Nurse Practitioner and a dear friend, but she was also a person living with Multiple Sclerosis. Her relationships knew no bounds. She put all those around her at ease with her cool manner and quick sense of humor – lightening and brightening any mood. She was bold, vivacious, and larger than life. She made sure she composed herself everyday by living her life the best way she could. Jackie genuinely brought comfort into the lives she touched. It was a blessing to be a part of her life and all the friends she made everywhere she went are truly a testament to who she was. She loved life regardless of her MS: it did not define her. When she was told she couldn’t walk, she defied the doctor by working with her best friend, who was a Physical Therapist, every day until she could walk again. Nothing and no one stopped her from doing the things she loved: mainly, her job as a nurse. She was also an advocate for the voiceless.
Jackie started her fight with MS at just 27 years old. At that time, she had already been through nursing school and got her MSN, but there were no treatments available for Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis at that time. She worked through her fight. Her passion as a nurse, was to help as many people as she could.
If a person was in need, she was there. Not even COVID-19 stopped her from helping others with physical therapy in her community. For about a month before she passed, she moonlighted helping people with MS to be more mobile or walk. She did not let the disease define how she lived her life.
This foundation is all about hope. Jackie inspired hope and love for everyone. We hope to keep her memory alive in doing all we can for people suffering with Multiple Sclerosis in her name. To not let this disease define you. Let’s fight this together.

What separates the Jacquelyn Zimmerman Foundation from other MS charity organizations is – first and foremost – that our sole focus is on people living with MS. While many other organizations work hard to fund research into a cure, we stand out as the organization devoted to helping families achieve the best lives possible until a cure is found. We do so with a unique personal approach. When a person calls our foundation, the call is answered by a service coordinator or peer counselor who can answer questions, recommend services, or give helpful guidance.
Another unique aspect of The Jacquelyn Zimmerman Foundation is the structure of our organization. With our national headquarters in Cherry Hill NJ, our Foundation serves the nation from one central location. By eliminating the need for branch offices, we are able to maintain a more cost-effective and efficient operation while maintaining the highest quality of help. Networking with independent, grassroots organizations gives us a local presence in communities around the nation.
Our core values, as reflected in our mission and purpose, guide us to fulfill vital unmet needs by delivering high quality programs and services. Our organizational culture ensures we adopt best practices in transparency, in order to operate ethically and responsibly. We strive to meet the expectations of the MS community-at-large, the general public, and governmental authorities, as well as our supporters.
We place a major emphasis on confidentiality that respects and protects the privacy of both constituents and donors.
We are committed to having a innovative environment wherein our staff is challenged to reach their potential in the course of either directly or indirectly helping to deliver our mission, while contributing to the growth of our foundation. We ensure equal opportunity for our volunteers and applicants, without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, parental or marital status, disability status, veteran status, gender expression, genetics, or age.
